What services do I provide?
The services I provide include:
other related editorial services
project management, health writing for consumers and technical writing, building web content, writing metadata for search engine optimisation (SEO), creating design briefs, liaising with designers, checking proofs, and other associated tasks (some reviewing/fact checking, rewriting, etc).
As there can be confusion over terms and what is involved in these services, I explain what I do for each of these services on the relevant page.

A tip for those looking for an editor
There are lots of unrealistic and exaggerated claims made on the internet about providing quick and thorough editorial services. Please note ‘quick’ or ‘fast’ and ‘thorough’ are opposites in editorial terms: you can have a quick job or a thorough job – it is very, very difficult, if not impossible, to do both.
When someone says that if your job needs a lot of work, they can do an accurate heavy edit at a word rate of 2000 words an hour, they either have a distorted idea of what an accurate professional editorial job is or they are lying through their teeth. (I can’t do a heavy edit at a rate of 2000 words an hour and, in fact, can’t do many proofreads at that word rate – nor do I claim to.) As a client, you need to decide what type of service you want and whether you want a quick job (where you potentially save on cost) or whether you want an accurate one (which is likely to take longer, but will give you a much better result).
Where possible, I prefer doing a high-quality job because I get more job satisfaction from it. I also find my clients are happier with the result and are more likely to use me again.
If you feel that my skills would be useful on your projects, I would be keen to hear from you.
